Street Stones

Decorated little tanned things
Some submerged in sand’s earth
Foot and hoof trampled, roaming
Their home our roads

They lived on my street immobile
Under the sun’s scorching, rains’ scolding, wind’s wiping
Competiting for space they can’t buy from passers’-by
These small ground solids unimportantly squat
